Attorney Goodrich is the principal of the law firm Goodrich & Associates, P.C. located in Pittsburgh, PA.   Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he graduated in 1983 from St. Francis University with a Business Degree.  In 1987, he earned a law degree from Duquesne University School of Law.

Attorney Goodrich’s primary practice areas include personal injury with a concentration on head trauma and vehicular accidents, including wrongful death and complex civil personal injury litigation.  He has successfully represented and/or tried multiple dram shop, product liability, auto, trucking, and motorcycle accidents, premises, medical malpractice, and workers’  compensation cases.  Additional practice areas include social security disability, wills and estates.

Notably, Attorney Goodrich has obtained one of the largest awards ever against a bar/restaurant for negligence in over-serving a driver who caused substantial injuries to an innocent victim.  Also, Mr. Goodrich tried one of the first DNA related cases back in 1992 and also conferred with experts involved with the O.J. Simpson trial.  Nationally, he earned the distinction as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by “The National Trial Lawyers” organization.  In 2008, “Irish Voice Magazine” recognized Mr. Goodrich as a Top 100 American Irish Lawyer.  In 2009, he was recognized by the “Irish Echo” as one of the top Irish lawyers in the country.  His legal savvy has ranked him a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocate Forum.

Mr. Goodrich has an “A V” Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest possible rating for both legal abilities and ethical standards.  Only 8% of all lawyers in the United States of America receive an “A V” rating.  In order to become a member, you must be nominated, interviewed, vetted and then elected.    In 2015, Mr. Goodrich was nationally recognized by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.  The NADC is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of legal excellence.  Members are vetted by a research team, a blue ribbon panel of attorneys, and the Judicial Review Board.  Only the top 1% of attorneys in the United States of America are awarded membership in the NADC.  In 2016, Attorney Goodrich was recognized by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys as a Top Ten Attorney in the state of Pennsylvania for excellence in the field of personal injury.

In Pennsylvania, Mr. Goodrich has been a member of the Board of Governors for PJA (former Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association) since 1993.  He is a past Board of Governors Member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is currently an at-large member of the PA Bar­ pAC Committee.  Mr. Goodrich has also been acknowledged as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer since 2006.  Only 5% of all lawyers in Pennsylvania are acknowledged as a Super Lawyer.  He has provided testimony on pending legislation before the Pennsylvania State Senate.  For six years, he was an appointed Hearing Officer for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  In 2001, Mr. Goodrich was selected and elected as a Fellow in the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.  There are only 250 members out of 10,000 lawyers in Allegheny County to achieve such an honor.  From 2011 to present, the National Trial Lawyers acknowledged Jack Goodrich as a member in good standing and has met the standards of excellence.

In 2006, he was honored by the Knights of Equity as Iron City Man of the Year.  He is currently a Board Member and fundraising chairman for the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee; previously serving as solicitor.  Mr. Goodrich was the 2014 Grand Marshall of the Pittsburgh, PA St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  In 2014, he was also honored as a supporter of initiatives to help at-risk youth by Champion Enterprises at the 39th Annual Willie Stargell Memorial Pittsburgh M.V.P. Awards Banquet.  For over 20 years, Mr. Goodrich has composed educational materials, as well as participated in local, national, and international seminars.

In 2014, Mr. Goodrich was appointed to the Presidents’ Advisory Board at his alma mater, St. Francis University.  Mr. Goodrich is past President of the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and still serves on the same.  He is also President of the Brehon Law Society of Western Pennsylvania.  He is a current memberof the Allegheny County Bar Association and past member of the ACBA Rules Committee, Civil Litigation and Judiciary
Committees.  In Pittsburgh, Mr. Goodrich is also a past president of the Duquesne School of Law Alumni Association and also served on the Past Presidents’ Advisory Board at the Duquesne University School of Law.  In 2016, Attorney Goodrich was appointed by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania to the Disciplinary Board.  The Disciplinary Board is a 13-member panel that sits
in review of attorneys’ conduct or lack thereof within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  This nomination recognizes his exemplary character and expertise.
